Row Row Row Your Boat ~ And Catch That FISH

FISH ANYONE?

To be honest we both are not fish people. We will eat it when our parents make it and that would be it! However recently my dad and brother-in-law went fishing and they caught a lot. So I decided I would try my hands in cooking fish for once and see what I can do.

I made two types of fish. First is a fried fish and the second is curry fish. Both are marinated in mustard oil, turmeric (haldhi), generous amount of salt, pepper and a little red chilli powder. Then all the fish is fried in hot oil. After 15 minutes of frying the fried fish is done and the remainder fish can be used to make a curry dish.
So to make the curry dish first take hot oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenegrin seeds. Wait till they start popping and add add in onions and garlic only, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala. Then add a little bit of salt and pinch of sugar. Add the remainder fried fish. Add a little bit of water at the end and voila you have your curry fish.

Tilapia Fish

Tilapia Fish

Honest Verdict:
We are not a huge fan of fish. But being Assamese and having parents who are die hard foodaholics of eating Fish we had no choice but to try and love eating fish as well. My mom & dad both make the best fish and I guess that made it easier to eat it. But if we had a choice of fish versus anything... you can bet we'd go with anything.

This receipe however is something that we enjoy eating and the best part is that the prep time will literally take you less than 5 minutes to put together (just make sure you have all the ingredient in front of you and bam bam ... YOU ARE DONE!!)
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Bake: 350°F- 30 minutes

Ingredients:
1) Tilapia Fish
2) Salt/ Pepper
3) Vegetable or Chicken Broth OR Sweet Corn Can
4) Cilantro
5) Parsley Flakes
6) Cooking spray

Seasonings:
You may use any seasonings you like but here's what I used:
Corriander Poweder, Curry Powder, Garam Masala, Paprika, Meat Tendinizer, Garlic Powder, Chicken Rub, Garlic Salt

Steps:
1) Defrost Tilapia ~ you can do this about 2 hours before you plan to bake.
2) Lay out fish in a baking dish (remember to spray the dish so the fish doesn't stick or you can use aluminum foil)
3) Add salt/pepper (to your taste) and spread all over the fish (it's OK to use your hands!!!)
4) Add whatever seaonsings you like or the ones I suggested. (Rub all over the fish)
5) This step is OPTIONAL.. you can do either or neither.
a) Pour chicken or vegetable broth all over the dish and stir it up a bit.
OR
b) Open a can of sweet corn and add it all around the dish.
6) Bake it and ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Garnish with cilantro ~~~~~ How pretty!!
